In a world that constantly asks us to rush, do more, and give endlessly, slowing down can feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar.

This week inside my Empower Hour, we explored:

Why We Need to Slow Down

We started with a question:
What makes it hard to slow down?

For many midlife women, life is full of caring for others, navigating transitions, and constantly holding space. When we pause… something magical happens.
We remember who we are.

What Is a Magical Self-Care Moment?

Self-care doesn’t have to be hours of spa time or a perfect morning routine. It’s about intentionality.
One small act… done with love.

Here are some gentle, magical ideas to inspire you:

  • A warm cup of tea in silence

  • Standing barefoot on the grass

  • Diffusing or applying essential oils with intention

  • Journaling to soft music by candlelight

  • Slow body brushing or applying oil to your skin with love

  • Lying on the floor, legs up the wall, breathing deeply

Essential Oils as Emotional Anchors

Essential oils can help you pause and feel. They support our body and emotions in the most beautiful, gentle way.
These are a few of my favourites for creating sacred moments:

  • Lavender – Stillness, calm, deep exhale

  • Balance – Grounding, support, presence

  • Frankincense – Connection, reflection, deep self-honouring

✨ Intention to pair with your oil:
“I am allowed to pause. I am allowed to receive. I am allowed to feel good.”


Affirmation:
“I give myself permission to slow down and receive what I need.”
